Dr. Odegard is an experienced orthopedic surgeon who retired as a full Colonel after 20 years of medical service in the U.S. Air Force. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the United States Air Force Academy in 1980, his medical degree at the University of Minnesota in 1984 and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas, San Antonio in 1992.
While in the Air Force, Dr. Odegard practiced at a variety of locations worldwide as a solo practitioner, in large medical groups, and in combat zones. He was the team physician for a variety of high school and college sports teams, including the NCAA D-1 Air Force Academy Men’s Basketball team.
Dr. Odegard completed his ten-year recertification with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, the Missouri State Orthopedic Association and the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons. He is on staff at St. Clare Health Center, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. John’s Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital, and Mason Ridge Surgery Center.
Dr. Odegard skillfully treats a wide range of orthopedic conditions. He is especially adept at sports medicine and occupational injuries, arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, and arthritis treatment options.
Sarah Kessen is a board certified adult nurse practitioner. She works in collaboration with Dr. Keith Odegard. As a nurse practitioner, she is able to provide high quality healthcare. She graduated with a master's degree in nursing from Jewish Hospital College of Nursing at Washington University Medical Center. She has been in practice as a nurse practitioner for over 10 years. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she was a registered nurse and has a wide range of nursing experience.
She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has been widely involved with the St. Louis Nurses in Advanced Practice serving on their board and as the chairperson for their annual symposium.
