Testimonial

Donnie Williams
Acupuncture Patient

“I could not recall injuring myself, but I awoke one morning and was experiencing severe left neck pain, radiating down my left arm, causing some numbness in my hand. Heat, ice, and medication were not giving me relief. I am self employed and I was fearful I was not going to be able to work. I met with Dr. Sandi Tate and she prescribed an MRI to diagnose the actual cause of this pain. The MRI revealed that I had a herniated disc. I was given several options for treatment (surgery, pain medication, physical therapy, and acupuncture), and after weighing the benefits and risks of each, I chose acupuncture.

Admittedly, I was a little skeptical when we began the first procedure, but I was in such severe pain, I was ready to try anything short of surgery. When the acupuncture began, to my surprise, it was relatively painless in spite of my fear of needles. Halfway through the first procedure, I began to feel better and the chronic pain in my neck was dissipating. Shortly before the end of the first procedure I actually had a feeling of euphoria and well-being come over me. Most importantly, by the end of the treatment I was temporarily out of pain for the first time in several weeks.

Since that time, I have been receiving regular treatments (every 2-4 weeks). I am free of pain and able to function using my left side — neck and arm. An added benefit was that I now feel like the person I used to be — filled with more energy and vitality. Currently, I consider myself the “poster child” for acupuncture and wish every person in chronic pain could be blessed with the results I have experienced.”

From Dr. Tate

“As a physiatrist, my entire career has focused on the outpatient treatment of individuals with neurological or musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain. My treatment approach has been conservative with judicious use of medication, injections, and physical therapy. I have given thousands of trigger point injections and have been very pleased with the results of such injections. My practice also has a fair amount of fibromyalgia patients. Through the use of acupuncture, I want to offer my patients an additional choice of conservative treatment for their symptoms.”
